If many participants are to play against each other in a small number of groups, it may be advisable to limit the number of rounds. This means that not everyone plays against everyone else. Instead, each team plays a fixed number of games. For example, in a group of 10 participants, 5 games can be played, followed by a knockout round between the top 4 participants.
